Hi all, we're finally dug out of the snow, and the five horses, the donkey, the three dogs, the cat, and (oh, yeah) my three tykes are all fine --- thanks for the concern! Hope everyone else out there in Clarinet Land is doing well. Guess I'll go downstairs now and practice my Ferde Grofe excerpts......

I keep telling my wife that it's OK for me to have dozens of clarinets and saxes, as opposed to her "mere" six equiids (horses + donkey, that is) because my instruments need no feeding, pasture land, vet visits, barn, board fencing, shoes, etc.......she's not buying my argument. Neigh!

Dave, we have 2 donkeys--had 3 but one of the surviving 2 kicked it off the side of the pond and it broke its neck. We also have 2 ranches of sheep--thanks to my mother-in-law's departure from this world last year. I like horses, but no one listens to me. I love my dog. She's the best! But she cringes and runs for cover when I practice. She also has discriminatingly good taste.

Oh, by the way--the donkeys "guard" the sheep. Yeah--right. When they aren't stepping on the babies. We have a real problem with coyotes here in Texas.
