good private lesson instuctor South Seattle?

I am hoping to find a good teacher in the greater Seattle area. Prefer south end, but can travel. I have seen an earlier post for names of instuctors on the north end...any more/new prospects.

Go to http://www.teachlist.com/ and select the appropriate boxes. Several teachers are listed.

Sean Osborn comes to mind. He's listed on the site above. I've emailed him before and he seems very approachable. Web site is http://www.geocities.com/osbornmusic/>

Don't know if he is taking new students, but second Sean Osborn. Great player and great composer! HAT will probably chime in with more details.

HI. I am from Seattle and I studied with Laura DeLuca for many years. She is a fantastic clarinetist and teacher. Many of her students have gone on to top music schools and professional carreers. The nice thing about Seattle (among others) is that there are a good amount of accomplished teachers with successful students. I am good friends with a student of William Blayney and a student of Mary Kantor, and both are great players.

I don't know how far south you are, but I went to Meany Middle School and I took the 48 Metro bus (which I believe runs to Rainier Valley) to Greenwood for my lessons with Laura DeLuca.

I've met Sean Osborne, and he's very nice, and his reputation as a top-notch pro is well known. Good luck with your teacher search. I think you have enough names to get you started I'm sure I'm leaving some out. I have no idea if any of the teachers I have mentioned are accpeting students at this time. Practice hard, and good luck.

I know both Sean and Laurie DeLuca and either would be a great choice. Laurie Studied at NU a few years before I got there and is very well regarded. You'd do fine either way. Don't know where she lives. Sean is in Shoreline, I think.

I take lessons from William Blayney. He's a great teacher and a fantastic player. To me, it's worth the price of a lesson just to hear him play. Many of his students have done well in state contests and others have gone on to great careers in music. He teaches in Ballard. He is also director of the Greenwood Concert Band.
