 Standards Real Book--Revisited
Author: Bob A

Mine arrived today! Hoo Ha! Boy is it great. Tod, yes it is the one with "Bugs Bunny" on the cover, spiral bound, and it contains BRIDGES where needed. (More than in "Madison County" and most I had also forgotten). It's published by Warner Bros. Pubs (got mine through Amazon) and they also publish a "Just Jazz Real Book' and a "Just Blues Real Book." Even snuck in almost an hours practice and I will really need to soak my hands and fingers extra tonight. To heck with the Dr's, press on and enjoy.

Bob -

Shame on you for practicing! It spoils the jazz feel.

[stand in for a particularly snotty face]

Sounds great Bob (and Bob).

I searched Amazon and didn't find "Just Standards Real Book--Bb Edition Fakebook" but I did find "Just Standards Real Book, C."

Also, found one for "E" (I'm still way too naive so maybe I'm looking at things the wrong way).

I did find the "......Jazz..." and "....Blues..." books though.

~ jerry --

Apparently you can buy it directly through Warner Bros. Publications. Here's a link:

You might also query Gary Van Cott, one of this site's sponsors. He may be able to point you to the right place on his link to Amazon.

Jerry, Amazon has a "use books" spin-off site. Their main site did not have a Bb, just the C and Eb. I got mine "used" [but it's in new condition] for ten bucks cheaper. They had three at that time (down to two or less now). Just finished playing around by setting my Rythm section on my keyboard to "Beguine" and playing "Begin The---" on my Bass. Had a ball.

Both Amazon.com and Barnsandnoble.com were confusing to me - at least on my computer. ISBN numbers helped me sort them out - C from Bb from Eb.

ISBN# for 'Just Standards Real Book - Bb Edition' -0757 9045 21
ISBN# for 'Just Jazz Real Book - Bb Edition' -0757 9944 90

Both sites display the numbers on their 'more information' pages.

Bob I was finally kiked out for not practicing and not having a teacher. As soon as I get caught up at work, or it kills me, I need to get back to the big C.

My Dr. told me the job is really taking it's toll on my health and that I should quit my job ........maybe go to work at Home Depot or something.

Hopefully I will make it through this year and hang up the T-square.

I'll run over to some of the suggested sites now, and see if I can dig up the books you're talking about -- I've been looking for the very thing that Bob A. has been talking about. Like to find some of N.K. Cole's music too.
