Has anyone tried the newer music minus one titles---"Jazz Standards" and "Chicago StyleJam" or "From Dixie to Swing"? I purchased "When Jazz was Young" but found the music very easy. Are the other titles "harder"/for more advanced players? Any other suggestions on where to purchase "hard" jazz sheet music?

I got turned off to MMO when I tried out their Brahms Quintet (Op.114) package--I'd thought when ordering, "Oh good, now I'm going to NAIL that second movement," but sad to say, the disc (aside from lackluster string playing) was originally recorded with A clarinet, and then artlessly speeded-up to make the CD suitable for Bb clarinet, which, let's face it folks, it AINT. A dead waste of $25 or so--and that's the last MMO purchase I'll be making!
Frankly, I'd order from Aebersold (and have). I'm not sure from your post, wjk, what you're looking for exactly: the Aebersold sets are melody lead sheets plus 2 or 3 choruses' worth of rhythm section comping to enable soloing.
Second John Moses' recommendation for Charles Colin, for this reason: they have a large inventory of trumpet jazz solo transcription books. The range approximates that of the clarinet, and if you want practice playing jazz solos over the break, get that big, thick Clifford Brown omnibus transcription book, it's heaven.

I'll back up the Aebersold recommendation . . . They have lots of books for every level. I believe there's one called "Burnin'!" that consists of songs all taken at over 300 bmp and another one that only has songs with odd time sigs. I have one of the (easier) books in the series, and the play-along CD is actually not bad!
