would like some advice on altoclar. part ,trills are difficult and low c-sharp gliss to high c-sharp seems impossible that fast

It would be helpful to know the specific mvt(s), measures, figures and particular arrangement of the Arnold you're playing. Assuming it's the standard "Paynter" transcription, the tricky trills are in the melody of the 2nd mvt. unless you're referring to the slipping and sliding on the dotted 8th-16th triplets in mvt. 4. The triplets stylistically should start "on the beat" with no more than 3 trills per note. As for the c sharp octave gliss, if it goes by too quickly there's nothing unmusical with ripping a scale and/or arpeggio making certain it's within the key and written chord .... ask the conductor, check the score or ask the double bass player. Also, always remember to build your groupings (including a gliss) from the bottom up so they play more smoothly and come out dynamically even. v/r Ken

#1 Take alto clarinet

#2 Throw in lake/ocean/grand canyon/salt mine (depends on location)

c-sharp is gliss is bar 3&4 after B and trills are 7th&8th bar after C,1st mvt
