While I'm playing, my vandies are drying too quickly after i wet them in my mouth for a few seconds they work, but after a few minutes they are dry again. I need help! I'm thinking it's because of they dry cold air where I live (central IL) but am not so sure. Thanks!

They probably need more time sitting in water to soak them. Opinions vary as to the time they need, but they do need to soak a bit.

It doesn't sound like a reed problem. It sounds like a mouthpiece problem. I would suspect the table is not flat or has imperfections.

Apply transparent nail color on the reed end to close fibre open ends, where much of humidity vaporises.

Soak the reeds longer in water--not your mouth. Wet them for at least a minute. You don't want them to be mushy, but it sounds like you aren't soaking them long enough. This can cause squiggles, but if you soak them long enough the squiggles will go away. Every time they dry out, resoak them.
