 Tounging
Author: Domingo Partida

Well, I've been playing for about 2 and a half years, and I have not yet mastered the art of quick, clean staccato tounging to where I can easily tounge 16 note runs. Does anyone have any advise, OH YEAH, this is another issue. How does the average cl. Tounge? I mean I know that you have to touch the reed w/ your toung, but I cannot tell if im doing it right. I can tounge staccato cleanly and professionally at that, and tounge connected, like if i were sluring but with seporation, so then I think im not quite using tounge to reed but maybe tounge to lip to reed or something. DOES SOME ONE KNOW REMOTELY OF MY DELEMA!!

There was a thread on this question just a couple days ago. Look for the postings by HAT and Greg Smith for some great insight.
