 Alternative use for metronome
Author: Bazzer the Jazzer

I just posted this as an (hopefully) amusing reply to another posting I thought it might be of interest to musician/photographers out there so I have created a New Topic. Does anybody else have an alternative use for a metronome? (keep it clean).......

Just for the sake of interest, I gave up playing clarinet from about 1962 till 1980, I never let a reed passed my lips, but my old Wittner metronome (I still have it) had lots of use during those musically barren years, I used it in my darkroom for counting exposures on the enlarger. So any musician/photographers out there if your new fangled digital electronic timer dies you can either count "thousands" or "elephants" or use your metronome! set it on 60, that is one second (what a conicidence!).

My new BOSS Dr. Beat DB-88 with the voice feature hasn't improved my clarinet playing one iota but it certainly HAS done wonders for my marriage! <;-D

As the saying goes, "I wouldn't touch that line with a 10 foot pole!"

Hi Baz, I had abreak from '80-87. Used my Wittner to count darkroom exposures too. Used the bell off a Wurlitzer 100c to funnel chemicals. My playing still stinks.

You're not supposed to set it for "Presto".

It's not a race <img src="http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/blush.gif">...GBK

No, all Ken probably means is that his wife is still practicing the "rhythm method".

Mmmmm, that bait smells tempting but I think I'll pass and turn the family channel back on ... I see they're showing that 48-year old classic, The "Mark" of Zorro (gives himself a high 5). <;)))

Araugh... Don't EVER say the words "Dr. Beat" around a marching band student! You know you've experienced hell when you've heard "Dr. Beat Disco Style" over a loudspeaker at 8 AM. Dr. Beat may be the all knowing PHD of music and rhythm, but he sure gets annoying after band camp. :P
