Watching/hearing "Lawrence of Arabia" on TV, TCM, tonight, they have played two fine British marches whose names I can't recall. Can you help me "Name Those Tunes" ? TKS, Don [OK? Mark?]

It may be "Voice of the Guns" by Kenneth Alford (a kind of British Sousa) written in 1917 and used in the movie.

Real name Frederick J Ricketts. Kenneth was his oldest son's name and Alford was his wife's maiden name.
His brother also composed under the pseudonym Leo Henry, if you're interested. Must've been a family trait...

According to this review, the "Voice of the Guns" is the only piece of existant music adapted into the score.
I always liked the entire score, and especially that march, though I had forgotten (if I ever knew) that it was by Alford.

Many TKS Jim E, what a fine review, of fine music in a fine film, even if changed a bit by re-recording. I noted the reference to a "sprightly, British-sounding March", which I assume [non-technically] was composed by Jarre, as the "other" march I enjoyed. More research?? Don
