Is Herr Moennig alive? I have seen reference to his death at this site, but have not found evidence through searches of the internet or Westlaw or a quick search of the New York Times. I bought a Buffet R13 from him in 1961, which I still have, and which he kept in good form through the early 1970's. I have had great respect for him and would like to know about his current circumstances.

Likely Mark C can give you the update you wish. If you dont know of it, in the Winter, 1983, Vol 10 No 2, "The Clarinet" available from the ICA, there is a fine "pictorial essay" about [and by] H M which should be required reading , particularly by the Buffet cl'ists. Don

Hans passed on quite a few years ago. I do not know if his widow is still alive. Funny as it may seem, I can say that I have had Hans widow sit on my lap.
There was a Settlement Music School (I am advanced studies CLarinet teacher for) fund raiser back in 1992 that I attended, and afterwards there was a party at the directors home. We all piled into her car, and Han's widow ended up having to sit on my lap, as there was not enough room. We only were going about 10 blocks.
