If you've played or own one of these, how do you like it? I've toyed with the idea of purchasing one for a couple of years now. I did like the Patricola C I owned a while back.

I bought a Patricola in '95 and am still playing it. At the time I bought it, I tried some Leblancs, Selmers, Yamahas, and Buffets, and I liked it the best. My teacher at the time was also playing one, and he had a wide selection of intruments to chose from.
There are a few tuning problems with mine: the throat A and bottom-of-the-staff E are flat, and several notes have some "turbulence" in them that seems to break up the sound sometimes. I didn't notice any of these things until quite a while after I got it, so who knows if a mouthpiece or other change might have had an effect. One thing you run into with any non-Buffet is that the Buffets generally have different tuning characteristics, and there being legions of Buffet players, you usually have to adjust to them, not the other way round.
One thing I'll say is that they do very beautiful silverplating; mine has not tarnished much, and shows no wear problems with the plating despite years of heavy playing.
Of course, this one was made in '95, and as with other clarinets, the company is probably making small changes all the time, so, as always, its worth judging each instrument on its own merits, without too much regard to what you've heard about the brand or model. I think its safe to say the Patricola is in the same league as other Pro line instruments and worthy of play testing. They are also very reasonably priced.

I have a set of four, the Bb, A, C, and Eb. The tuning can be a bit iffy and the funky throat Bb mechanism doesn't quite do its job. The action, however, is magnificent.

I had a student who bought one a few years ago-rosewood Bb. She just showed up one day with it! It was the most beautiful horn to look at but I don't think I would buy one because the sound was very mellow and not suitable for orchestral work. shortly after buying the clarinet it cracked a few times and she ended up buying a buffet.

I have heard other complaints about the rosewood models cracking. Maybe it's a seasoning thing.

I have one and i live in a place where the temp is anyware from 30F to 110F and i have NOT had problems with cracking. i love mine.
