I want to know if a portunoy mouthpiece is a good enough mouthpiece for an intermediate level student, or should i buy another one? I use the mouthpiece in marching band, and in my high school wind ensemble, i'm pretty sure it's made of wood because i've worn the inside of the mouthpiece from blowing...

I use a Portnoy BP03 on a pro model clarinet. I find it to be a good match for my instrument. I think, as with instruments, you need to find out which mouthpiece works best for you.

I've used a B-Portnoy for years--my college teacher suggested it, and it has worked for me better than anything else.
