Dear freinds;

Just took part in what is a province-wide professional wind ensemble rehearsal yesterday and would like to report on some of the repetoire....it seems the group had very little trouble in most of the music and we had an excellent first rehearsal with a super clarinet section.

The Music

Holst Planets Suite Mars
Variations on a Korean folk Song
Star Wars
Scenes from the Louvre
Percy grainger Lincolnshire Posy Suite(all of)
Theme of Bliss
March Florentine

Interestingly enough our bass clarinet is a german system player and tunes and sounds great at 440 with no problems. It was an enjoyable day with excellent music. Our first concert is on February 2 and hopefully we will have enough support to keep it alive.

Sincerely
d dow
