I finally got to try a Selmer Sig. today at Melk Music in Milwaukee, Wi. (just off freeway near the state fairgrounds). It is a store that I highly recommend. The owner is a clarinetist and they carry a great selection of student and pro equipment--Buffett, Selmer, LeBlanc and Yamaha, to name a few. Anyhow, I found the Signiture clarinet to be a "dream" to play. The scale was even from low E to high G and the intonation--while not perfect--was better than I have ever found in a clarinet "off the shelf." The throat tones tended to be sharp, but the rest of the horn was right on according to my meter. The only thing that I found to be a potential problem was in the basic quality of the sound. Maybe with a different mp and reeds adapted to the instrument, that aspect would improve, but the sound to me was a bit on the "dull" side--nice, but not much "presence." I don't quite know how to describe it any better than that and maybe it is just my own "demented" concept of clarinet sound. You really probably need to try the horn and judge for yourselfs. But intonation and eveness of scale, it is the best yet!! Has an extra Eb key also. Please try the Signiture and add your opinions to mine.

I recently bought a Sig and I absolutely love it. I don't know what type of mp you use but I tried it with a Hawkins and am currently seriously thinking about purchasing one because the sound was gorgeous. But I am hoping to try some other's before buying a Hawkins. I currently own a BPO3 and a Larry Comb's mouthpiece but neither of these seem like the perfect match.
It's great to hear of someone else who enjoy's playing on the Signature as much as myself.
