If anyone is interested:
The Sam Ash store in Miami Lakes, FL, has a used Selmer 10-S they just bought from a group of touring Romanian musicians, together with two Selmer series VI saxophones.
All three instruments are ugly to look at, but incredibly good to play. I was peripherally involved in the sale/purchase (I don't work for them) and got to play them all at the store before they actually changed hands.
Right now they have the 10-S up for $599.00, but they do occasionally consider reasonable offers from serious buyers.
Raymond Lim, who does their instrument repairs and is an outstanding technician (and classical musician) goes over all the used instruments before they are delivered to a buyer, but if anyone is interested in it, let me know and I'll make sure he does an extra-special god job on it.
You can e-mail me for any additional information, like who to contact there and how, with the understanding that the instruments are not mine and I don't have anything to do with their sale.
I just think the instruments should go to someone who can appreciate them.

What were the saxophones? Alto, tenor, soprano? Do you know what the store wants for them? And , how was the clarinet? Intune , freeblowing? Sorry to ask so many questions but it helps to get the specifics. Weren't you tempted to make them an offer yourself? I know I would be. Sometimes great horns appear when you least expect it. My dream has alwas been to find a great clarinet at a yard sale for $10 - $100. But that's getting almost impossible to do with ebay and all that. Though i still hear stories of terrific finds. Thanks - TD
