A reed's pressure varies a lot. Try to find some that require less abdominal support and no, NO, biting to control the reed. A little pressure is not bad, too much is terrible.
In time you will develop a sense of the reasonable range of effort a decent reed requires. And in more time yo will seek reeds that fall within a smaller range of effort.
Good luck as you find your way. Every one's path is different.
