 Lamott oboe cane?

I hate to date myself, but my thirst for knowledge overrides that concern (yeah right!). Almost 50 years ago I used to get cane from the Jack Spratt company in Connecticut. I found it to be better than Moennig, Hayden, Caputo, etc. In fact, one day I had my teacher (one of the best oboists in the world at that time - and teachers, too) play on one of my reeds and he said he hadn't had a reed like that in months. That cane was so good that I stopped gouging my own cane and bought it pre-gouged. The name of the cane was Lamott and so, does anybody know if that same source of cane is available today, under some other name?
One word about Moennig (W. Hans) once he got a bad shipment from France and so on my order, he sent me a 50% refund, so that I didn't get stuck with all bad cane, but with some cane, until his source recovered. Now, that's both integrity and intelligence at work. No wonder, he was the best! Regards, Loree BF51
