Cadenza in Orpheus Overture

Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld overture has a short cadenza starting an measure 35, basically in two parts beginning with a low F with an arpeggio to high C (first half and High Bb (second half). Both halves end with a trilled top-line [F5]

My teacher thought that the second trill should go to F#, rather than G natural, but said she was far from sure about it. Does anyone with experience playing the piece have any thoughts about what's correct, or whether it might be an option for the player?

2nd trill is F to Gb. At that point you are outlining Bb minor (thus the F-Gb).

BTW - the final grace notes are E natural to F. Some versions (ex: The Bonade book) leave off the natural sign on the E.

In the band version of course the solo clarinet also has to play the violin cadenza, and I have always found this trickier than the actual "clarinet" cadenza.
Anyone else find that ?
We don't have the option of shifting positions like the violins.

Re the violin cadenza: it depends on the arrangement, of which there are several. In the one I played most recently, the violin cadenza is assigned to the flute.

The 2sd trill is from F to Gb and is preceded by F aND Gb grace notes
