Does anyone know how old a Yamaha eefer with serial #01150 is? I can't seem to find any serial lists.
Thanks!
Anna

I don't have a list. From the parts list: Production started in 1982. In 1994 it changed to the YCL-681 (2) but I don't know if that change is obvious to the consumer.

Has it got the word YAMAHA with the other company info forming a crescent underneath it or are all the words in straight lines all stacked up?

It has Yamaha in a straight line with Nippon Gakki underneath in a crescent.

Those are the ones made until around 1987 which was their 100th anniversary year and when they changed their logos (and ditched the tuning fork logo on their sax bells).
Serial numbering for Yamaha instruments is all over the place - no-one seems to have a definitive guide.

Good to know, thanks! I bought it earlier this week. A bit older than I expected but it's a nice instrument, intonation is good for an Eb, and no cracks.
