Hi everyone, another history delve.
I have in my hands here a:
EXCELLA
S.M.L
PARIS
FRANCE
Serial# 8389
no banners/crowns etc.
Can't take pictures right now but it is essentially identical to this http://musikinstrumente.ru/klarnet-excella-sml-paris-francuzskoj-sistemy-sdelano-v-parizhe.html
I can find a bunch of info about SML and its clear cut stu-int-pro but not much about the Excella. Any info I have found is about the Excella as produced by King after they took over.
Seems in great condition, well made, nice instrument. Just wondering if anyone knows the original standing in the SML line etc. I'm told it's 1960s which would make sense, just before it was infiltrated by King.
I'll be purchasing based on how I feel with it, naturally, but it's always nice to know a bit about it's background.
Thanks for any input!
Ran away to circus. Bakson.
