Mahler Bass Clarinet Excerpt

A bass clarinet excerpt from a Mahler symphony has been uploaded to the Yahoo bass clarinet board http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NewBassClarinetGroup/files/Mahler%20bass%20clarinet.pdf.

Can anyone identify it? It's obviously a transposition of a part for BC in A.

Hello Ken - I'm intrigued by the mention of the transcription but I can't access the file since I am not a member of the Yahoo bscl board. Can you upload the transcription to a public site or attach it to a post in this thread on this bboard?

My guess, not having seen the part, is that it might be from Mahler 6.

It's from Mahler 8, the first movement, from figure 29 to figure 40. (credit IMSLP with an assist on the play)

It's only a portion of the excerpt, though. The original part continues on bass clarinet in A through figure 45, with some wicked chromatics at figure 43. I wonder why the transposer didn't complete the excerpt.
