Again, "do your RESEARCH"! This has been my motto when talking to my students about their schools of choice. One thing to remember is don't be afraid to explore other options. You would be surprised about a schools strengths. A community college in my area has a nursing program that is highly regarded. Students with an AA from there have been hired over nurses that graduated from major universities. This is an extreme but it serves as a great example of what I'm talking about. I apologize if I seem real overzealous about this subject but as a high school teacher that really cares about their students, I want to make sure that their experiences after high school are chosen with thought and attention to detail. Just like their music making.
