Dear all
i have read several posts about Ridenour clarinets and his products. In fact, i bought his ATG reed finishing sistem ( not from him) and it works quite well, i really get good results on the reeds I adjust with it....anyway,
I was very curios because i needed a backup instruments and also wanted to buy his C clarinet.,....
Some of you said that his is very fast in replaying e-mail but I have to disagree.....i sent him an e-mail in June and didnt get ANY replay from him so far!
Maybe he will send me replay next June or next year but i am not hoping!
Is he is still alive? I hope he is........
Did you had similar experinece with him as me, or he dont want to deal with poeple from the old continent...reed Europe,......or what!
Best
Alex

Perhaps he was at a conference when you originally emailed him and missed it. I don't think he would have dismissed you because you are "old continent." Is this the email addy you used? sales@ridenourclarinetproducts.com
I'd give him yet another try.

There was a reasonableness factor missing back then ...
Atasic, you might want to try emailing from an email account other than one that ends in '.yu', such as a gmail or yahoo or msn account. The amount of spam, virii, and trojans being sent from the .yu domain are disproportionate, and your email might be trapped in a filter.

Be careful not to take a non-reply personally. Instrument makers are extremely busy people, and they are not necessarily able to respond to every inquiry right away.
Several months is unusual, of course. Fact is, sometimes e-mail gets lost. Or maybe he got it and accidentally deleted it. It's happened to all of us.
I've communicated with Tom both by e-mail and by phone, and he has always been prompt, polite, friendly, and extremely helpful.
Bottom line is that while e-mail is convenient, it's a horrible way to communicate when you're dying for an answer. With phone, you get them right away, and you have immediate give-and-take. E-mail is one-way communication, and you have to wait till the other person decides to answer.
If I were you, I'd do it the old-fashioned way: give him a call. His number for people outside the U.S. is 972-572-8910.

I have one of his clarinets and I did find the email communication was slow. I had to send a repeat email a couple times.
This is not realated to the quality of his clarinet, so it's not a big deal for me.

I live in Germany. I have emailed Mr. Ridenour. He was prompt in response, friendly and helpful. I don't know why you have had problems, but I am quite certain that being in Europe is not the reason.
