Today, I just noticed that I was absent-mindedly scratching my clarinet case while I carried it around. The weird thing was that I was scractching it like it was some favorable dog or something... I don't suppose anyone else does this, right? Have I gone mad?

I think you're probably OK....now, if the horn starts to shed, chew up your slippers or make messes around the house....well........

Well, my Pro-Tec double case does have dog hair all over it, so I'm halfway there to moose's insanity level.

Your perception that you were "scratching" the case may rather be evidence of supressed urge to play the guitar. jbjr

Canadians would remember Don Messer - he was famous for his television program of many years called "Don Messer's Jubilee". He had a peculiar habit of absent-mindedly rubbing his thumb along the bottom of the face of the violin when he wasn't playing. During a recent concert Frank Leahy, who was given the violin by Don's daughter, showed us the bare spot that was left. These are just little quirks, aren't they? How important is it that people don't notice?

moose,
Yes, you've gone mad. Accept the fact and learn to live with your disability. Over 50% of the world's population is stark raving mad, yet continues to function day-to-day (often better than those of us in the minority who are still sane).

It's the new Vandy mouthpieces... that outgassing agent responsible for tarnishing silver is probably an opiate...
Can you see time, yet?
(It's the second notation, reading left to right...)
When you can see the accidentals coming, it's incurable.
