Hi there
After years of playing tenor sax, I have finally gotten the urge and started playing clarinet, and I just love it!
I am going on vacation soon to Istanbul and Athens, and I would be interested in buying either a Turkish or Greek clarinet, but I know little about them, except that there are metal Turkish horns, which sounds really interesting to me being a sax player. I understand the Turkish horns are in the key of G - do they usually use the Albert system? I am just barely getting used to the Boehm!
Does anyone know of a reputable shop in Istanbul (where I am staying longer) or in Athens? I understand the the prices are very reasonable over there (I am in the US).
Any info about these instruments would be most helpful, I am especially intrersted in klezmer and roma music, where the clarinet playing just kills me!
thanks much!
