Leblanc LL Forked Eb Mechanism

I have a new-to-me 19/7 Leblanc LL that I just received back from the tech.

It appears that pressing down the 3rd ring closes the tone hole below the 1st ring but it does not close the tone hole beneath below the 2nd ring/Eb sliver key. However, pressing the 2nd ring moves the 3rd ring.

As opposed to some other mechanisms, I don't see an adjustment screw to allow the 3rd ring to press down that other tone hole.

Is this the way the mechanism is supposed to operate? Did the mechanism get switched somewhere along the way?

This question is not in my "wheelhouse."

That said, this thread on "articulated clarinets" on the forum might shed more light or be a starting point into your research.

Your LH forked Eb/Bb mechanism is working exactly as it should. Lowering LH2 will also lower the LH3 ring key because of the adjusting screw which both closes the E/B vent and also regulates the closure of the two small vent pads so they close together to ensure D/A will speak.

When you play forked Eb/Bb with the designated fingering (xox|ooo), LH3 will close off the E/B vent (between LH fingers 1 and 2) so Eb/Bb will issue from the LH2 tonehole chimney. The LH2 ring key will remain raised and the small vent key between LH fingers 2 and 3 key will remain open to compensate for LH3 being closed for a well tuned Eb and Bb, unlike long Bb fingering (xoo|xoo) which is good for an upper register Bb, but sharp as a lower register Eb.
