I need help. In the 2000 edition of the clarinet and piano sonata, the notation of accidentals in the piano part (1st mvt.) is confusing at measures 51 and 52.
Question: On the second eighth note in the right hand, is the sharp sign in front of the "d" or the "e.?"
In 51, the sharp appears to be in front of the "d" while in meas. 52 it appears to be in front of the "e."
Since the 1st eighth note (r.h.) in meas. 51 contains a sharp in front of the "e" wouldn't the second eighth also be an e sharp.
This appears to be easy, but, unless you have the piano part of 2000 ed. you will see the confusion.
Help. I am practicing it to accompany my clarinet student. I have performed the clarinet part several times and never had a question from my collaborator.

E#.
They both look like E#'s in my piano part (1990 edition).

Thanks. That would make sense. I did ask a non-musician friend , and in the 2000 edition it looked to him that they were decidedly different. (one on d and the next measure on e.
