Hi guys - does anyone know where I might be able to get a 54mm barrel (that will work well on a yamaha csg II - my 56.5 is seriously flat in the Winter months) in the UK or anywhere that might ship to the UK at least?
Many thanks!

Woodwind & Brassswind sell a few 54mm barrels from Ridenour and a few other makers. They tend to run about $100.

Also Wurlitzer would be an option, perhaps also improving the tone (when I once attached a Wurlitzer barrel to a Schreiber German clarinet it made an almost incredible improvement of its tone).

If you want to keep it factory then I would get another standard barrel (55mm) and have it cut to the size you need.

I would try contacting Ryan Pereira. He sells 3D printed barrels at any length and I know that he has a few models specifically designed for Yamahas. He does ship to the UK as well.

The barrels that come with the CSG are 55.(something)mm long and as far as I am concerned they were always too long! The shortest made by Yamaha is 53.(something)mm (can't remember anymore). Rounding up is ok because 54mm seems to work with space left over. My favorite barrel for the CSG is the African Blackwood model (54mm)I bought from Allan Segal.

If you can get your hands on a zoom barrel for csg clarinets by Paulus & Schuler those are very good. Plus they are easily adjustable.

I had a 54mm P&S Zoom barrel for my last set of CSG clarinets, and it worked very well on both the Bb and A. That would be my first recommendation.

This subject interests me. A barrel is not a complex thing, it's very simple, so I would think as long as they fit OK any of those 50 dollar chinese barrels on ebay would be OK, if they are really made of ebony and not some fake synthetic made to look like wood.
