My friend has E-11 with A. Segal Grenadilla barrel and makes pretty good sound.

Get one of Tom Ridenour's barrels , they are nice and fat and look good. They will make your clarinet sound good too as you need something between the mouthpiece and the rest of the instrument to get things to work properly. ;)

I agree with Barry. When I was playing an old Evette Master Model, I used one of Tom Ridenour's barrels, and it worked very well. Discuss with Tom which type of barrel and length would be best with your particular instrument and mouthpiece. You can find contact info at <www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com>

This is not to take away from Dr. Segall, who also makes fine barrels.

When I used to play an E-11 before I switched to an R-13, then a Leblanc, I had a Backun Traditional Grenadilla Barrel on mine. Cocobolo will probably get the job done too, I prefer the sound of cocobolo anyway, it's warmer and rounder, that's why I play all cocobolo barrels and bells now.

e11's are pitched at 442, having a short 64.5? barrel.

when upgrading e11 barrels i usually point students to 66mm ones - usually stock buffet r13 barrels.

why do you want a different barrel?

i agree with chris.. i'd stick with the original E11 barrel, until your at least get a professional clarinet.

then if you want to improve something, first look for a mouthpiece. to me, mouthpieces make a lot more impact to your setup than barrels and bells.
