Where can I find the sheet music?
So this is what they're called in the CD, played by James Campbell, James Sommerville and Stephan Sylvestre. The three specific tracks are called: Prelude, Op. 35 No. 4; Song Without Words, Op. 53 No. 2; Duet, Op 38 No 6. (The CD is "Carl Reinecke and Friends, Chamber Music of the Romantic Era" and includes the gorgeous Burgmuller Duo for clarinet and piano.)
James Campbell's people wrote that these were originally written for cello but that Jamie Sommerville transcribed them for horn. I checked with Jamie Sommerville during one of our Hamilton Phil concerts and he said that James Campbell would know about the sheet music. So far there's been no response to a subsequent e-mail to Campbell's people. James must be too busy planning the "Festival of the Sound" up by Georgian Bay in Ontario.
Our trio (clarinet, cello, piano) would really like to add these three pieces to our repertoire for summer recitals, but time is running out. Any ideas of where to locate this sheet music?

The pieces of which you speak are arrangements by Ernst Naumann.
For this set of three short pieces he arranged one of Mendelssohn's Six Preludes and Fugues op. 35 and two Songs Without Words, op. 38 and 53.
The original *arrangement* is for clarinet, cello and piano.
It is published by Amadeus (1986) and has the catalogue number BP 2649.
I have played this arrangement many times and it makes a wonderful concert-opener or second-half-opener.

Bingo! By entering Ernst Naumann into Google instead of Mendelssohn I finally had success in locating the sheet music. Thanks a bunch!

Again, the BB pulls through where others cannot. Thank you, Simon!
I checked the link you gave me, passed it along to our pianist, who passed it along to the music store where she orders her music. The music store had been saying it was unavailable but to their credit they took the suggestion and tried. They ordered the music and had it sent directly to our pianist for LESS than it would have cost me to order it myself. Must be the special rates given to stores.
So only 50 days after making the first inquiry we were handed our parts this morning at rehearsal. It really is for cello, clarinet and piano. The horn part was only a transcription made for the CD recording.
(GBK, would you change the heading of this thread from "horn" to "cello"? to make it easier for searches.)
