 Older Vito serial number?

My first clarinet was a plastic Vito, serial number 74312, and I would love to know how old it is. The problem is, The only Vito serial number record I can find shows very clearly that they all have letters in them in some place. All I know about the clarinet is that it was bought in the Minneapolis, I think in the early 70s. Can anyone shed some light on this?
