If anyone is using the "Ton Kooiman" thumb rest, I would suggest using a strip of velcro to act as a cushion. It will also absorb the moisture from your thumb and will prevent your thumb from being pinched by the gap between the thumb-rest and the sliding plate.
The velcro you should use is the "unhooked" side. It is softer. And of course you should get the velcro with the self-adhesive backing.
If anyone is using this thumb-rest, I would like to know what you think of it. And has it improved your playing at all?
