So, I was completely stupid and fell a couple of weeks ago and tore my rotator cuff-left arm. It's not bad enough to need surgery, but it's bad enough to make playing miserable. Unfortunately, this is the worst time for this to happen. I have two recitals, two more concerts (that's after the one that was 2 days after my fall) a concert series of 8 days straight and Christmas eve gigs. My arm hurts the worst while I'm playing or just after. I saw a physical therapist and she said to try to wear my sling while playing, that was almost impossible. It is possible for me to play without it, but the pain is worse.
Anyone have any suggestions to make it through this next month and a half? Thanks in advance!

You need to see an orthopaedic surgeon, preferably one with experience in sports or performance-related injuries. I had a similar problem several years ago and went to Dr. Greg Palutsis in Evanston, who is a sports orthopod who happens to specialize in shoulder injuries. I think at the time he was consulting with the Bulls. Clearly understood the performance aspects of the situation. Anyway, there may be things they can do with cortisone shots, anti-inflammatories, accupuncture, etc., but you need to talk to a physician.
Good luck!

see my answer to the tendonitis question.
I think I'm getting boring, but this thing really works!
