Trois gymnopedies was commissioned by the Trio Neos of Mexico City and was premiered on October 25, 1990 during the XVIIIth International Cervantion Festival held in the Guanajuato. "Not only have I borrowed the title, number of movements, and tempo indications from Satie, but I assimilated Trois gymnopedies' compositional premise as well for my trio." |
