 Historical Principal Players
Author: Ken Shaw 2017

A complete historical list of Boston principal playerss, organized by date and with many pictures, is at http://www.stokowski.org/Principal_Musicians_Boston_Symphony.htm.

A complete list of every BPO member is at http://www.stokowski.org/Boston_Symphony_Musicians_List.htm. Unfortunately, it's alphabetical, with no way to sort it historically.

The invaluable http://www.stokowski.org/ site also has historical principals lists and some complete historical personnel lists for:
- Chicago
- Cleveland
- Met Opera
- Philadelphia
- Russian Symphony Orchestra of New York
- Saint Louis
- San Francisco

Other historical lists I've found are:

http://userwww.aimnet.ne.jp/user/moribin/ecso1stcha.htm (Chicago)
http://www.mytempo.com/orchestra.htm (clarinetists)
http://www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~philorch/1stChair/First.html (Philadelphia, Ormandy era)
http://web.archive.org/web/20091021042352/http://geocities.com/Tokyo/1471/member.html) (Philadelphia, historical but several years out of date)
http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=339619&t=339619 (Met Opera principals in 1990)
http://www.clarinet-now.com/new-york-philharmonic-principal-clarinetists.html (New York clarinet principals through 2008)
http://www.musicalchairs.info/orchestras (more or less current orchestral section members, world-wide)

If anyone knows of other historical principals lists, I'd appreciate links.
