 Downward...er...scoop?

Hi all!
I haven't posted on here in years!

But I was wondering, how do klezmer clarinetists do that downward slide/scoop on notes? (I don't know if there's a name for that) Is it a finger thing or totally done with the mouth/throat?

One of my friends is a klezmer violinist and I've listened to his band's stuff for years and I've messed around learning some of the tunes by ear but that part totally boggles me. I wonder if my reed is too hard...

To show what I'm talking about...

the guy in this video does that scoop at around 0:22 seconds.

Thanks very much :)

This particular board seems like it's pretty dead, but I kind of answered my own question via youtube - if anyone else is interested:

a nice description.

Also his accent is great :D
