Unlike oboe, most clarinet players buy commercially made reeds for playing. There are many many brands of reeds of different strenghts and quality for different players' need.
I don't think there are players make their own reeds, other than for special purposes. Instead of making reeds, most advanced players have special tools to adjust the reeds to suit their personal taste.

To produce clarinet reeds by hand I would suggest obtaining a copy of the "Opperman guide for making and adjusting clarinet reeds" and "the Clarinet and Clarinet playing" by David Pino. I myself have made an attemp at producing reeds from hand and these texts have proved invaluable to me.

To whom it may concern:
your article doesn't show what kind of wood you use besids bamboo (which I know is wrong!) to make the reeds. Please put that in your directions!
Please change,
Disipointed!!!
