What notes are you trying to trill? I had a thumbplate system oboe, and all the trills remained the same. The exception was that the thumbplate allowed an additional way of playing B flat and C. You would release the thumbplate, and then the Right hand index finger wasn't needed for either note. Did you have a particular trill in mind?
