Which make of horn do you play?
Most orchestral horn players I know play either Paxman or Alexander, and most band players seem to like Holton and Conn.
And most beginners seem to play Anborg or Lidl horns.

I'm surprised you don't mention Yamaha, which would be my first port of call if I tried to play the horn again after 32 years.
I think the commonest models in shops are Yamaha and Jupiter.
I remember trying a Lidl as a kid; the strange-looking model with a long horizontal rotary across the other valve slides. Even compared to the other cheap and beaten-up instruments I'd played, it was monumentally horrid: felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool. Maybe it was.

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.
To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

Talking to a horn player I hadn't seen for several years, he likes his Yamaha single Bb horn for playing Jazz - I can't remember what make his full double is.
Oh yeah, the Lidl compensating system!
It's an F/Bb horn, but not a full double in that it uses the same valve ports and tuning slides as the F, but closes off a length of the pipework to put it into Bb when using the 4th valve rather than having the F and Bb sides using their own separate sets of plumbing.
Still, it can't be as bad as any horn made by Parrot - the one I saw was high spec (detachable bell, full double w/A valve), but I reckon the Lidl could be considered superior in comparison!
I know the Paxman Studenti horns were made by Anborg, though I've been out of touch with brass instruments for over 8 years now so I couldn't be too sure if they still are. They even made natural horns using Anborg parts.
