There's enough overlap in the Oboe World that if you mis-pronounce something, someone will either a) immediately correct you according to the pronunciation used in their local area or b) completely understand what you are talking about.
The biggest difference betwixt us and the Brits is our pronunciation of the 'er' at the end of Selmer and in Howarth. Bar-ray, Bear-it, I've heard both ways.
