I rebuilt an older Rigoutat a while back which was a lovely instrument to play.
Although it had a gorgeous tone and played very easily, I had to really be aware the upper top register and altissimo were very sharp for me as I wasn't used to it as I'm used to playing a Howarth S5 - the S55 has the same bore and tonehole layout (and undercutting) as the S5, so those of us brought up on Howarths will be accustomed to them.
it's just one of those differences between makes.
Maybe you might like the XL as this is a different beast to the S55 and S5.
How do you find the physical weight (or balance) of the S55 compared to your Loree?
