Two of the local colleges have both purchased Fox plastic instruments in the past 2 years - they are both fine instruments (I play a Loree myself). I think it is a good idea to get plastic in a situation where there may be long periods of no one playing the instrument (summers, at least). I have not tried the other brands you mentioned - good luck!
