Are these oboes the ones with two short top joints?

Is it the short top or elongated middle joints that are cracking?

I wonder about shipping new oboes around and if that is contributing to cracking problems? Are they flying at 30 -40,000 feet in an unpressurized, unheated aircraft hold? Are they stuck in customs lockers for a while, otherwise out of envirenmental control appropriate for an oboe?

I'd rather ship my neighbor's cat that way than my oboe. (Only kidding...well, sort of, let me amend to substitute neighbor for neighbor's cat.)

Even with my old Covey, I am very reluctant to ship it for these same fears and questions.
