 little lever under LH2

Hi everyone,

I'm playing a Cabart (Loree). The little lever under the LH2 key (sorry, I don't know the name for it), sometimes closes when I play an A (low register), and sometimes it doesn't.

Now, I'm also noticing that my low register A is a bit hit-and-miss in speaking.

Could the two issues be related?

Thank you!

That's your Ab-Bb trill mechanism - the G# key holds the LH2 fingerplate down to give a well-tuned Bb when trilling LH finger 2 whilst fingering Ab. It's a lightly sprung lever and shouldn't hold down the LH2 fingerplate. If it is binding, then get it seen to.

As the note A issues from the LH3 tonehole, you could have something else causing you trouble.

Hi Chris,

This is so helpful. Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to respond! I'm really grateful for your generosity.
