If you could send your oboe anywhere in the US to have it fully adjusted, what would be your choice? Mine hit the ground (cement floor) quite a while ago and the local person doesn't seem to be able to get it back to where it was. There is nothing visible wrong with it, but it doesn't play like it used to; I think something got slightly bent. My own attempts are less competent than the local person's.

Either Jason Onks or Larry Mueller do fine work. Bothy have facebook pages and are easily contacted. The other option, depending on what oboe maker it came from, is to send it back to them. All the best.

I am fortunate to live in the Bay Area near Forrest's in Berkeley where John Goebel works, and not too far from Mark Chudnow in Napa. Both of those guys are top-notch.

John Peterson is a superb Oboe repairman. He restored my well played Rigoutat classic and it was like new.
He works with RDG woodwinds in Los Angeles.
This is his website.
