Does anyone have or know where a NON professional can get longer than 8.6mm adjusting screws for a Cabart oboe - the chimneys are tall !

You could always shorten the pips instead as they shouldn't need to be any longer than 7mm (which is the length of Howarth adjusting pips and screws).
The only other option is to make the adjusting screws with long heads just like short rod screws with longer threads than usual.

Thanks Chris and upon further examination I noticed that all of the adjusting screw heads would not go past the top of the chimney - I took one out to find out the issue, the chimney looked good.
I cleaned it with a pipe cleaner then tried to insert the screw head first - no go - it seems that over time it developed a mushroomed top - I sanded and polished them smooth on the bench motor and they slide in all the way - every single screw was basically useless. No more... Now to the next problem.
