I am enjoying learning to make reeds now. And I am an avid 'shopper' == found a device called a doublegeek. Anyone use it?
From the video they post, I think two things.
First = it is only for final dressing and shaping.
Second = no sharpening? Treat with old only?
admitted gadget freak = if I buy one, my teacher will probably laugh and then frown at me. But it looks like it is easier than the knife for fine trim work.
Senior aged beginner.

I think that thing is made of carbide - so its harder than regular steel.

I have one, and it is better than using a dull standard reed knife. However, I hardly ever use it because I find that it doesn't scrape tips anywhere close to as well as a properly sharpened reed knife.
Because it never needs sharpening, it's a compromise product for those unwilling to learn how to properly sharpen a reed knife.

I use one for adjusting, when I can’t use a knife.
It works fine, not as well as a knife. I primarily carry it when flying some place and I can’t bring a knife.

The nature of the 90-degree angles of the cutting surface is the limitation. They cannot be sharpened further.
