He is one of the best baroque music interpretors ever, and his version of Albioni is to die for, and personally i find his 2nd movement much better than Gordon Hunt's. No doubt Gordon Hunt is one of the most superb musicians of our day, and Holliger has proven himself worthy to be one of the most virstuoistic and unique (obvious to Gmac, =p) regardless of style, tone and technique. For the authentic baroque sound though go for baroque oboist Paul Goodwin. Updates...i will be doing some excerpts from Bach's cantatas and oratarios with the Mezzo-soprano this April or May, and i have yet to conclude on what pieces to perform, but CPE Bach's sonata in A minor will certainly be on the list.
