Also try a bit of cork grease on the spot where the thumb lever pushes on the octave key. The thumb lever may need more spring tension. To do this, unhook the end of the spring from the block on the thumb key. Gently bend it slightly in the direction to put more tension on the key and then push the end of the spring back into the spring hook on the thumb lever.
