Is there a way to swell a cork that is still in good condition but has shrunk a little due to a change in humidity from where it came from, to its new home that is drier?

Coat the cork with Vaseline petroleum jelly then bring a hot metal plate, such as a domestic iron, close to it, turning continuously.
It works on my clarinets.

Thanks. I figured heat would do it but didn't know how to go about that. I do own an iron but would have to buy vaseline. Right now I'm using the Selmer pink stuff which is slightly more runny.

Forget the "Selmer pink stuff" Buy a small tube of Vaseline. I have used this for 30 or more years. It works. Let me know how you get on.
